A Bella Hawkins Mystery

Welcome to Bedford, Texas—a quaint small town with charm, community, and murder mysteries?

Synopsis:

Isabel “Bella” Hawkins, an English professor, with a unique ability to perceive details others miss, relocates to Bedford after a turbulent breakup. Determined to focus on her writing and reconnect with her best friend, Thuy, Bella quickly finds herself embracing the warm-hearted townspeople, including the charming restaurant owner, Azim. Though sparks fly between Bella and Azim, she's hesitant to rush into a new relationship.

Just as Bella begins to call Bedford home, the peace is shattered by two suspicious deaths. Driven by her sense of justice, Bella teams up with Thuy and one of her students, to uncover the truth. The trio's relentless quest for answers uncovers decades-old secrets and threatens to change everything they thought they knew about their town and its inhabitants.

The novel’s gripping plot unfolds and leads her to an unconventional friendship with Kamar, a misunderstood local artist. As Bella gets closer to uncovering the truth, she realizes that saving Kamar may come at a high price—unearthing the town’s hidden secrets and facing the danger that lurks within.

Although faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of the things not seen, there is a way to understand when God is moving you closer to the place where he promised that he would establish you. There is a season for everything and a pattern that follows Biblical principles that help us understand not just the Who and What of God, but they also reveal the When of God. God's timing is rested in His sovereignty and if we be still while we are believing, we will uncover that good or bad all things work together for the benefit of those who are in Christ Jesus.

Phylisha shares her personal journey and how she discovered that, much like in the natural, we must endure some pain, but if we push through, the pain will propel us right into our promise!

After the loss of her daughter, Phylisha created several different activities to ensure that the legacy of her daughter would live on. On what would have been her 16th birthday, Phylisha released a children's book series called, Asia Speaks! The Asia Speaks! series was developed as a tool to assist young learners and their educators establish strong, healthy connections with social and emotional conversations that aid with positive self-image and acceptance. Each book in the series includes simple lesson plans and activities that help the educators explore and reinforce the important topics within the text. In addition, the books have been illustrated with minimal eye traffic so that learners with special needs (i.e. autism, dysgraphia, etc.) can enjoy the stories as well.

Asia Speaks! about how the expectations and perceptions of others make her feel about herself and the world around her.

N'yah to Castonia is a heroic adventure set in a time when Kings ruled with their hearts, soldiers fought with a purpose, and families loved with the understanding that life is too precious and days are too short to live without each other. This tale is a testament of the reality that for everything, there is a season. Expect to be submerged into the lives of the people of Syrak as they are thrust into a war to the reached the Promised Land.

Set in the 1950's backdrop of Oklahoma's historic Deep Deuce, a young African-American woman escapes the abuse of her jealous mother to pursue a dream more important than her desired to be a famous jazz singer---to simply be loved.
